Continuing Education
Six Rivers strives to inspire learning and involvement by teaching conflict resolution skills to our community. Our educational opportunities focus personal development of skills such as active listening, detoxifying language, and identifying interests. In teaching these important lessons, we strive to create a strong foundation for our mediators and community members to work from in promoting healthy conflict resolution.

The new training dates and format will be shared here, on our newsletter, and on the Six Rivers DRC Facebook page. Thank you for your interest!

Feeling like your mediation skills are a little rusty? Want to get more mediation experience before you start mediating real cases? Mediation Practice Groups are a wonderful way to further your mediation skills by practicing with other volunteers. During practice groups you will be asked to participate in mediation role plays and will not only gain experience in mediation, but will also be presented with opportunities to learn from other volunteers with varying levels of expertise.
Practice groups start by brainstorming areas or concepts that participants would like to focus on for the session and then move into informal mediation role plays. After the role play is complete, the group will devote time to discussing techniques and methods and their efficacy. Mediation Practice Groups will allow you to stay current and comfortable in your practice to ensure skilled and experienced mediators for our community.
